However, questionnaires measuring ACT-processes are often not validated this patient group need cross-cultural validation. This study investigated the psychometric properties of Action Questionnaire Acquired Brain Injury (AAQ-ABI; flexibility related to thoughts feelings about ABI) Cognitive Fusion (CFQ-7; cognitive defusion).Materials methods Score distribution, reliability, convergent validity AAQ-ABI CFQ-7 were examined Dutch ABI.Results Seventy-three patients ABI included. The showed good reliability (Cronbach’s α = 0.87) excellent 0.97). Both did show a floor or ceiling effect, nor skewed distribution. There strong moderate correlations between measures flexibility, mood, quality life, value-driven behavior (AAQ-ABI: r −0.70–0.81; −0.67–0.84). Inter-item total indicate that questions within each questionnaire measured same construct 0.40–0.78; CFQ-7: 0.84–0.93).Conclusions current shows have acceptable when defusion ABI.

Validating measures of psychological flexibility in a population with acquired brain injury.

This study presents preliminary validation data on both the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-Acquired Brain Injury (AAQ-ABI) and the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (AAQ-II). Data from 150 participants with ABI was subject to exploratory factor analysis on the AAQ-ABI (15 items). A subset of 75 participants with ABI completed a larger battery of measures to test construct validity for...

Measuring oxygen cost during level walking in individuals with acquired brain injury in the clinical setting.

This study examined the test-retest reliability of oxygen cost (ml·kg(-1)·min(-1)) during level walking in individuals with acquired brain injury (ABI). Ten individuals with ABI (5 men, 5 women) (Traumatic brain injury, 1, central pontine myelinolysis, 1, stroke 8) and 21 healthy controls (11 men, 10 women). Measurements of gross and net (walking minus resting) oxygen consumption (ml·kg(-1)·min...
